Married to wife, Judi. We have one daughter, Christine. Served as a Director for our community Tennis and Swim Club (500 families). Directed the tennis program while establishing activities and budgets as a member of the finance committee. Also, managed a men’s racquetball traveling team which competed along with 20 clubs in the Chicago Metro League. Enjoy sports, particularily football (current member of Northwestern University’s Gridiron Network). I also enjoy music, performing arts, dancing (member of a dance club), traveling, and walking along Lake Michigan with Judi.

Held numerous positions including Senior Technology Mgr., Director of Advanced Manufacturing, and Engineering Mgr.- Corporate Quality Design Technologies. Responsibilities included new product introduction, product / technology development, and integrated optical components design.

AT&T Bell Labs (now Lucent)        Naperville, IL

Various engineering roles culminating as a Distinguished Member of the Technical Staff (DMTS). Led a Hybrid Integrated Circuit development team of 20 engineers and researchers. Designed thin-film multi-chip (MCM-D) products for use in the 5ESS central office switching system.

Co-op program (through Northwestern University) involving installation of central office switching equipment.
